Advanced Language Arts If you are preparing for the GED® Test-Reasoning rough Language Arts (RLA), Science, and Social Studies, this course can help you learn how to analyze and interpret con- text- based texts as well as construct evidence-based writing. $100 tuition (includes $90 in fees) required at registration. Science and Social Studies Courses Reading for Science If you are preparing for the GED® Test–Science, this course can help you learn how to analyze and interpret context- based texts. GED ® Science Foundations is continuing education course is primarily designed for ESL students to improve their English reading, writing, and vocabulary skills, as well as the scientific knowledge needed to transition into further GED preparation courses. $50 materials fee required at registration. GED ® U.S. History and Government Foundations is continuing education course is primarily designed for ESL students to improve their English reading, writing, and vocabulary skills, as well as the historical knowledge needed to transition into further GED preparation courses. $50 materials fee required at registration. GED ® Math for ESL A & B Explore and learn math vocabulary needed to begin prepar- ing for the GED. Topics include whole number operations, decimals, fractions, percentages, and word problems. $50 materials fee required at registration. Intermediate Math Discover fractions, decimals, percent, ratio, proportion, data analysis, and measurement. Free tuition; $50 resource fee required at registration. Extended Math for GED ® Reinforce the mathematical skills needed for success on the GED® Test–Mathematical Reasoning. Free tuition; $50 resource fee required at registration. Developmental Disabilities College Opportunities for Readiness Education Adults with different abilities will be taught math and reading skills in an educational environment that seeks to improve or maintain each student's academic level. Students will expe- rience opportunities for learning that reflect their interests and individual needs both in the classroom as well as in a computer lab. CORE is a five-day-per-week program that meets Monday through Friday from 3pm-6pm on the HCC campus. Cost is $375 per month (includes $275 in fees).
