If you are new to riding, this is probably the course you want. To pick your class day and time, visit riderschool.org and click on "Class Schedule." $345 (course fees total $290) Absolute Beginner—Basic Rider Class (ABC) is is the traditional Basic Rider Course, but with a smaller group and more individual attention. e ABC is for the beginning rider who wants the most personal instruction. To pick your class day and time, visit riderschool.org and click on "Class Schedule." $460 (course fees total $290) Dawn Douglas Meet Our Instructor Dawn Douglas has been riding since 2006 and joined the Rider School team in 2008. She highly valued her learning experience with riding, which encouraged her to give back to the community by becoming an instructor. She enjoys teaching and helping other riders enhance their skills. In addition to teaching, Ms. Douglas has ridden cross-country as well as into Nova Scotia and other parts of Canada. She is a member of a long distance endurance group called the Iron Butt Association. She is also an actress and model and has appeared in a couple of ad campaigns for BMW and their perfor - mance center. She believes that riding a motorcycle opens one's worldview and connections to exploring the world and learning about different people in a whole new way. Jim Stuteville Meet Our Instructor As a retired Army officer, teaching and coaching people is Jim Stuteville's passion, which is why he enjoys being a rider coach for the Howard County College Motorcycle Safety Program. Mr. Stuteville rode motorcycles as a kid, took a long break while in the Army and started riding again in 2007. He enjoyed taking the Basic Rider Course that year at HCC and decided he wanted to become a rider coach. After completing the certification program, he started teaching in 2011 and has enjoyed every class he has taught. Come experience your first class instruction at HCC!
