Continuing Education Programs for High School Seniors and College Students Too old for Kids on Campus? Learn skills to help you get employment after high school and add credentials to your resume. Enrolling in an apprenticeship program can help you earn while you learn! Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVACR) Apprenticeship Program Application due July 1. In partnership with the Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors of Maryland (HACC of MD), we are offering an apprenticeship program including a series of courses and ongoing lab projects, designed to build and enhance field skills. Over a period of four years, each student must also log 8,000 hours of on-the-job-training off campus, with oversight by an approved HVACR contractor. Upon completion of the program, apprentices earn their journeyman's license. Coming this summer and fall: NEW! Construction Management Apprenticeship Complete this credit construction management certificate program at HCC through a series of noncredit courses for work readiness training, academic classes, and 2,000 on-the-job training hours per year for two years with local construction companies. Students will earn approximately 34 college credits and may apply to take the Construction Man- ager in Training (CMIT) certification exam offered by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA). You can earn a Maryland Child Care Teacher "90 Hours" Certification in only 10 weeks. Two courses required: Child Growth and Development 45 Hours: is certification course satisfies the child devel- opment half of the MSDE requirement of 90 hours for child care teachers and directors. Gain a broad overview of major concepts, theories and research related to the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the child from birth through age 12. is course and a 45-hour course in age-appropriate curriculum (preschool, infant-toddler, or school-age) are required to complete the 90-hour certification for child care.
