Mervat Sewilam Arabic Interpreter "I have a bachelor's degree in translation and inter- pretation and I found the medical interpreter courses at Howard Community College to be very helpful. I learned detailed medical terminologies, the medical interpreters' code of ethics, as well as a lot about different health insurances, and generally how the health system functions in the U.S. In addition, the instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful. They will guide you throughout the course and will try their best to get you on the right path." Ricardo Batiz Spanish Interpreter "The health care interpreter courses at HCC address all the needs required to get a well-paying position with an interpreting company and is above and beyond any course out there. After I mention to managers and physicians that I have taken a formal course, the amount of job offers I've received has been very im- pressive. The majority of the interpreters I have met in the field are people that know a second language and have been interpreting for years without knowledge of federal laws, as well as the rules and regulations that are demanded by hospitals and physicians."
