With all this time spent teaching middle school students, it is not a surprise that he enjoys hanging out with Harry Potter and Percy Jackson fans during Kids on Campus. In his words, "These two book series are amazing, and they have helped a bunch of my former students develop a passion for reading." When he's not in school, he enjoys spending time with family, helping his wife coach both of their daughters in soccer and lacrosse, traveling, and reading. He recently earned an administrative certificate from McDaniel College, has a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College, and holds a bachelor's in education from Towson University.
