In this creative camp you will learn the skills to make a cupcake pin cushion, a felt needle case, a custom- ized neck roll pillow, and a cross stitch bookmark. is hands-on class will introduce you to the techniques of stitching by hand, sewing with a machine, pinning fabric, making patterns, hemming edges, pressing seams, and following a pattern. Materials provided for this sewing camp include colorful felt, 100% cotton fabric, sewing and embroidery needles, thread, pins, buttons, beads, pat- terns, embroidery floss, fiberfill (for stuffing), iron and ironing board, and sewing machines. Her crochet, sewing, and cross stitch projects have won numerous ribbons at the Howard County Fair. Ms. Corrigan has over four years of experience sewing, altering, and repairing dance costumes for a ballet company in Ellicott City. In addition to her passion for sewing, she is a marketing professor for the Loyola University Maryland Sellinger School of Business and Management. She holds an MBA from Loyola University Maryland, a master's in textile chemistry from North Carolina State University, and a bachelor's in chemistry from Hood College. Ms. Corrigan will also teach Crafty Fun With Felt (pg. 13), Personal Finance (pg. 51), and Stock Market Game (pg. 58). Sewing 101
