Register Online: howardcc.edu 12 | Howard Community College FALL Schedule of Classes 2020 Most students planning to enroll in credit classes at Howard Community College must submit an Application for Admission and a $25 application fee (one-time, nonrefundable) to the Office of Admissions and Advising. e application fee is waived for all U.S. military personnel, honorably discharged veterans, and their dependents, as well as Dual Enrollment and Freshman Focus applicants. Different or additional application forms and fees apply to some programs. Students who previously attended two or more years ago must update their application but will not have to pay another application fee. Some students may have to complete different or additional application procedures as described below. Students are strongly encouraged to fill out the online Admissions Application for faster service which is available at howardcc.edu/admissions. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Complete all items on this application or complete online at howardcc.edu/admissions for faster service. Proof of residency and photo ID are required upon request. Paper applications must be signed, and may be submitted to: Office of Admissions and Advising Howard Community College 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway Columbia, MD 21044 ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES Additional or different procedures are required for some students as follows (further explanation is available in the HCC catalog, and the HCC website–howardcc.edu/admissions): 1. Separate application fees, forms, and/or procedures are required for: a. Honors Admissions (James W. Rouse Scholars, and Frederick K. Schoenbrodt Scholars), the Freshman Focus Program, the Silas Cra Collegians Program, and the Dual Enrollment Program, and the STARTALK Program b. International citizens seeking F1 immigration status for full-time study in credit areas of study or the English Institute c. Nursing, cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, physical therapist assistant, dental hygiene, emergency medical services, medical laboratory technician, and diagnostic medical sonography 2. Before admission, additional procedures are required for: a. 8th-10th graders, including those being home schooled (may be admitted only on the basis of exceptional abilities related to coursework in which they seek to enroll; documentation is required.) b. high school juniors and seniors (including those being home schooled) planning to take HCC classes while in high school c. international citizens d. students who have been or are involved in disciplinary actions or proceedings at another school/institution 3. Concurrent with or following admission, additional procedures are necessary for: a. students who have previously taken college-level English and mathematics coursework and are seeking placement test exemptions or course waivers b. transfer students c. students seeking admission to clinical coursework in nursing, cardiovascular technology, dental hygiene, diagnostic medical sonography, emergency medical services, medical laboratory technician, radiologic technology, or physical therapist assistant d. students eligible for veterans education benefits or military tuition assistance e. students eligible for Social Security or other tuition waivers f. Maryland National Guard members seeking tuition discounts g. honorably discharged veterans and dependents seeking in-county or in-state tuition benefits (specific criteria apply) 4. Different admission procedures apply for noncredit students. Noncredit students should consult the Continu ing Education schedule of noncredit classes or contact the Office of Admissions and Advising.
