Enrollment Guide

Complete an admissions application.

y y First-time students pay a $25 application fee. (is fee is waived
for Dual Enrollment, Freshman Focus, and students from the U.S.
military community. See page 12 for more information.)
y y Returning students who have been away for two or more years
need to complete a new application; the fee is waived.

Take your placement test, if needed, and meet with an
academic advisor to develop your academic plan.
y y Find placement testing information at howardcc.edu/testcenter.
HCC provides several placement test exceptions including
high school GPA, certain grades in certain high school courses,
PARCC test scores and various standardized test scores.
Please provide an official high school transcript, an official
college transcript if applicable and test scores to the Office of
Admissions and Advising to verify your placement exceptions.
Unoffical documents may be provided for course waivers for
registration purposes only.
y y Once you've taken your placement test, consult the Admissions
and Advising walk-in advising schedule to plan your visit:

Register for classes using myHCC (myHCC.howardcc.edu).
y y Know your dates and deadlines; visit "View My Tuition Refund
& Withdrawal Deadlines" in myHCC.
y y Learn how to register online on page 4 or by visiting
howardcc.edu/register.
y y Need help? Email register@howardcc.edu or visit the Office of
Records, Registration & Veterans' Affairs (RCF-233).

Choose your payment arrangements.

y y Use myHCC to pay in full with a credit card, or visit the
Cashier's Office (RCF 200A) to pay in full with cash, check,
credit card, or money order.
y y Sign up for the Tuition Payment Plan in myHCC.
Visit howardcc.edu/paymentplan for more information.
y y To apply for financial aid, go to howardcc.edu/financialaid
and select Apply For Financial Aid. Aer you have completed
your 2019-2020 FAFSA, check myHCC and your HCC email
regularly for updates regarding the status of your application.
y y Visit howardcc.edu/financialaid for more information about
scholarships, grants, and loans.

y y Get carded! Get your student ID at Public Safety (RCF-117) to
use the Athletics and Fitness Center, enter and use computer
labs, and check out library materials.
