T W E E N S & T E E N S AGES 11-17 Motorcycle Basic Rider Course NEW! Ages 16–18. Want to learn how to ride a motorcycle? In this MD Motor Vehicle Administration approved licensing course, you will learn the skills needed to safely ride and operate a motorcycle with confidence. e course content meets or exceeds Motorcycle Safety Foundation standards, and our instructors are MVA and MSF certified. Students will learn responsible riding, proper gear, basic skills, defensive riding strategies, and how to handle various riding situations. Ample riding time allows practice of controlling the clutch/throttle, stopping, turning, shiing, and avoiding crashes. Instructors will evaluate and coach each rider's performance. Classes are held rain or shine. To receive the MVA Motorcycle Safety Program Course Completion Certificate, you must attend all class sessions and pass a written and skills test at the end of the course. Students will have one opportunity to retake either or both portions. ELIGIBILITY: Students must be able to ride a bicycle. Students must possess a valid driver's license or a learner's permit. Parents or guardians of registered students under age 18 will be required to sign a consent form at the first class. NOTE: Students must complete a 3-hour eCourse before the first class; provide their own helmet, gloves and eyewear (due to Covid-19, we cannot loan items anymore). Instruction is provided on college-provided motorcycles only.
