10 Howard Community College Engineering Students Benefit from a Culture of Togetherness When assistant professor and engineering and technology department chair Mark Edelen is asked what sets Howard Community College's engineering program apart from those that are offered at other community colleges in Maryland, he offers much more than a reason – he provides a list. "We really focus on engineering projects that are applicable to the real world, and this makes education a practical experience for each student," said Edelen.
