CAIRN Often used as trail markers, cairns are becoming a popular form of artistic expression seen in local parks, watersheds, and outdoor spaces. Recently, cairns have been popping up around Howard Community College's campus, and the anonymously created stone sculptures are quite popular among students, faculty, and staff. Perhaps it is the zen-like natural beauty they bring to the landscape, inviting all of us to stay balanced in the midst of our hectic weekly routines.
