The Peter and Elizabeth Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center opened in
the fall of 2006 and quickly became a cultural hub for Columbia and greater
Howard County. As we begin our 10
th
Anniversary season, we invite you to
join us for our YEAR OF THE WOMAN, featuring works created by and
about women.
The arts uniquely capture humanity through song, movement, imagery,
and the written word. Female artists have shared their perspectives for
generations, yet historic records overwhelmingly feature the works of
their male counterparts. We seek to unearth the untold stories of women
from the past and provide a platform for female voices of today. What
defines a woman? How has the narrative of a woman's life evolved
across time and culture? How are contemporary female viewpoints
immortalizing our era for generations to come? Please join us in
exploring these questions as we celebrate YEAR OF THE WOMAN
throughout our 10
th
anniversary season.
We hope to see you soon,
