Fall 2015 | Pathways 17 HCC Graduates Largest Class in History Howard Community College graduated its largest class ever in May 2015. With 1,197 graduates, HCC experienced the largest percentage increase in graduates in comparison to other Maryland community colleges over the past six years. Since 2009, Howard Community College has nearly doubled its graduates, with 86 percent more students choosing to complete their degrees or certificates. Business and Computer Programs Receive National Accreditation The 17 academic programs within HCC's Business and Computer Systems Division have been accredited by Accreditation Educational Services (AES). HCC is the first community college in the nation to receive this designation, which will help improve transferability and quality assurance to four-year colleges and universities. Howard County Times Editorial Encourages High School Grads to Consider HCC A Howard County Times editorial recently called Howard Community College and other Maryland community colleges the "smart alternative" to the traditional four-year model. Why? As the editorial explains, community college professors love to teach, you'll find smaller classes with students of all ages and backgrounds, and "armed with an associate degree from a community college, students often find they have a ticket to ride." HCC Launches New Website Just in time for the start of the fall semester, HCC launched a brand-new, user-friendly website. Among the new features are the program finder, allowing prospective students to learn more about what they want to study; a mobile- responsive design that adjusts to any smart phone, tablet or computer; and a social media feed that showcases the college's posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
