26 Howard Community College Building a Future for our Students We thank these donors for their investment in today's health sciences students, assuring a well-trained workforce in the health care field for tomorrow! In January 2013, Howard Community College opened the doors to the 113,000 square foot Health Sciences Building. This facility is vital for the college to address the state's critical nursing and allied health care workforce shortage needs. The new building is home to the college's nursing and allied health care training programs. It features state-of-the-art simulation labs and equipment, including a full size ambulance, as well as classrooms, study spaces, and lecture halls. The design and construction of the building was completed with capital funding from the State of Maryland (50%) and Howard County (50%), so 100% of gifts to the Howard Community College Educational Foundation received by the following donors have been used to directly assist students with financial need.
