Students Talk Affordability with U.S. Senator Cardin U.S. Senator Ben Cardin visited Howard Community College earlier this semester to discuss college affordability and to hear students share their concerns. Students opened up about challenges they face paying tuition, how financial aid has helped and where there is room for improvement, as well as their worries about paying for college for themselves or their children. Senator Cardin also discussed President Obama's "America's College Promise" proposal, which would make community college tuition free for responsible students. "These students are investing considerable effort and resources to better themselves, and their successes in the classroom will translate over time to resilient regional economies, lower unemployment and an even stronger culture of innovation in Maryland," said Senator Cardin. 12 Howard Community College Theatre Production Draws Praise Students performed their production of "Argonautika" at a regional Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in January. The festival featured the best student work within Region II (mid-Atlantic) and marked the first time that a HCC student theatre production was invited to the annual regional festival held at West Chester University. After watching the festival performance, the audience of theatre students gave the production and its actors a standing ovation and enthusiastic reviews on social media. @JPFinch1 "Argonautica is something you have to see before you die. That was indescribable. Awesome show! :3" @EanAmmerman "Howard Community College killed it with Argonautica! Hysterically funny, beautifully designed, perfection!" @kelseyr713 "THIS WAS AMAZING!"
