HCC TIMES Room SA-201C 443-518-4937 Published bi-weekly during the semester, the HCC Times serves as the student voice on news and issues, and provides the opportunity for students to see their creative efforts in digital or print. Students may earn college credit for work on this publication (see Counseling and Career Services). THE GAME ROOM Room SA-101 The Game Room offers pool, table tennis, foosball, video game systems, and widescreen televisions. All games are free-play. Board and card games are also available to sign out. Each semester, the Game Room sponsors programming, such as billiards demonstrations and sports viewings. In addition, pool, foosball, and ping-pong tournaments are held regularly, with prizes for the winners. WELLNESS CENTER Room CL-178 443-518-4950 The Wellness Center provides a centralized location for students to learn more about wellness related topics, address health concerns, and take action toward self- improvement. The center has a variety of educational materials, hosts health and wellness programs, and plans awareness activities and outreach on campus. Areas of focus include stress management, nutrition, fitness, alcohol, substance abuse, reproductive health, tobacco cessation and other health promotion and prevention services. Referrals to low-cost health care are provided as we do not offer treatment for illness or injury. Programs include free auricular acupuncture as well as low-cost full body acupuncture, massage and reiki for students taking at least six credits per semester. Free weekly fitness classes are offered. The center is an approved site for service learning projects. In addition, the Wellness Center partners with the Howard County Health Department to host a twice-monthly sexual health clinic.
