Instruction will cover an introduction to the procedure coding conventions and format, CPT guidelines, evaluation and management coding (E&M), and anesthesia coding. In addition, you will learn to assign the correct modifier requirements for optimal reimbursement. e basics of reading medical records will also be introduced. Prerequisite: Advanced Facility Medical Coding. Medical Insurance Billing A-Z Plus is hands-on course covers valuable skills to compete in the current job market and has been expanded to ensure increased hands-on practice is covered to meet eligibility requirement for multiple credentials. Learn all aspects of medical billing and claims processing from A-Z Plus includ- ing HIPAA Compliance along with a basic introduction to diagnostic and procedural coding. You will gain real- world experience with simulated practice as you manually and electronically prepare insurance claims. No previous medical experience necessary. Students who successfully complete this course will be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam, the Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) exam, and the AAPC Certified Professional Biller (CPB) exam (cost of exams not included in course tuition). Topics include dental ter- minology and anatomy, concepts of four-handed dentistry, instrumentation, causes and treatment of common dental diseases, CPR certification, and at least 24 hours of dental radiology instruction as required by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) for eligibility to sit for the DANB Radiology Health and Safety (RHS) certification exam.
