Fernanda de Oliveira Santos came to the U.S. to work as an au pair and was referred to the ELC by a friend. Her goal was to improve her English speak- ing skills so that she could find a good job in her home country working in international marketing and advertising. She took the English for Small Businesses class and learned about ethics, critical thinking, and how to deal with cultural differenc- es in the work environment. Most importantly, she learned how to freely express her thoughts in English. She enjoyed the ELC classes so much that she will recommend our classes to the new au pairs in the area.
