TRANSFER INFORMATION AND SERVICES Transfer Resources are located in the Office of Admissions and Advising. All kinds of information and services are available to transfer students to explore various transfer options in the state as well as throughout the country. The college hosts a Transfer Fair each fall and spring semester as well as smaller focused transfer fairs. Information sessions, visits from a wide range of college representatives from transfer and professional schools as well as subject oriented workshops are also available to interested students. Students who are Dream Act and Deferred Action eligible are directed to an International Student Admissions officer.The office provides orientation and workshops for credit students on F-1 visas. Students on F-1 visas should plan to meet with the International Student Admissions Officer at least once each semester to ensure they are in good standing and maintaining their status. ATHLETICS Athletic & Fitness Center 443-518-1380 howardcc.edu/athletics Intercollegiate athletics are an integral part of the college mission. Participation in extracurricular activities is viewed as essential in promoting a healthy balance between academic and out-of-class endeavors. The college fields teams in men's/women's soccer, men's/women's cross country, women's volleyball, men's/women's basketball, outdoor men's/women's track and men's/ women's lacrosse. Opportunities exist for participation by both full and part-time students. Eligibility standards and compliance are monitored on a semester basis for students participating in the athletic program. Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) HCC is primarily a Division III school (Division I in Men's and Women's Lacrosse and Division II in Men's and Women's Basketball) and a member of the Maryland Juco Athletic Conference Region XX, and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The college offers limited athletic scholarships for the D-II programs. D-III programs do not receive any athletically related aid. Instead, financial aid packages and academic scholarships are available to afford a college education. The athletic program is funded through a portion of student consolidated fees. A full disclosure of gender participation, expenditures and other information provided by the Athletic department is available in the main office in the Athletics & Fitness Center.
