HAPPENINGS Rep Stage to Participate in Women's Voices Theatre Festival In alignment with the Horowitz Center's "Year of the Woman," Rep Stage is participating in the first annual Women's Voices Theatre Festival, which will premiere a play by a female playwright in over 50 professional theaters in the Washington D.C. area this fall. At the festival, Rep Stage will present Jami Bandli's "Technicolor Life" as its official entry. This play tells the story of Maxine, a book-smart teenager, her older sister Billie, a wounded soldier who recently returned from the war in Iraq, and their ailing grandmother, Franny, a lover of American movie musicals. While Maxine secretly creates a dating profile for her sister and successfully The Dual Launch of HCC's Guest Artist Music Series and All-Steinway School Initiative The recent October concert of the revolutionary Anderson & Roe Piano Duo in the Horowitz Center kicked off the Guest Artist Series of HCC's 2015-2016 Concert Series, and served to launch the college's new initiative to become an All-Steinway School. Over 98 percent of the world's active concert pianists – including Greg Anderson and Elizabeth Joy Roe – have chosen to exclusively own and perform on Steinway pianos because of their sets her up with another wounded vet, her grandmother announces her intention to end her life and requests that the family support her final wish by throwing a goodbye party. The cast includes some of the best professional actors in the Washington D.C. area, as well as Rep Stage Founding Artistic Director Valerie Lash who will portray the role of Franny. The production will be directed by Rep Stage Co-Producer and Artistic Director Joseph Ritsch. Supported by Honorary Chair First Lady Michelle Obama, the Women's Voices Theatre Festival will mark the largest collaboration of theatres working simultaneously to produce original works by female writers in history. "Technicolor Life" will be presented in HCC's Smith Theatre October 21 through November 8, 2015. unrivaled sound and responsiveness.
