If you are nervous about riding, this is the class for you. Two evenings of classroom and two days of riding. To pick your class day and time, visit riderschool.org and click on "Class Schedule." $460 (course fees total $290) Alternate Basic Rider Course (ABRC) is is a shorter, more advanced version of the basic-level course that is completed in one day. It is for recently experi- enced riders who just need to earn a license. If you know how to ride but you haven't ridden in the last two years, choose the Basic Rider Course above. What's a sure sign that spring is near? e revving of motorcycle engines as we kick off a new season! Plan to sharpen your riding skills and increase safety awareness before hitting the open road this spring with our Extra Practice Session. You'll have two hours of time on the range using our bike or your own bike if you and your bike are licensed and insured under the supervision of an MVA and MSF certified instructor … plenty of time to work out the kinks if you don't ride over the winter – or even longer. As long as you've completed a licensing course anywhere, you're welcome to join this small group session to brush up on the skills you need to improve. Class is limited to six participants so you'll get the benefit of plenty of focused instruction from an MVA and MSF certified instructor. First session runs on Sunday, March 25, 1:30pm-3:30pm. Cost is $55. Sessions are offered approximately every other week. Check riderschool.org for full schedule. Experienced Rider Course/BRC 2 For (Class M) licensed motorcyclists who want to improve or refine their skills. Course content is approved by the MD Motor Vehicle Administration and Motorcycle Safety Foundation, and instructors are MVA and MSF certified. Students will practice a variety of skills and techniques for motorcycle control and receive a basic refresher in street skills and survival strategies. During nine riding exercises, instructors will help you to improve skills and eliminate bad habits. All classes take place on the range and are held rain or shine. At the beginning, instruc- tors will evaluate each rider's ability. Riders who cannot demonstrate minimum riding proficiency will not be allowed to continue and will not receive refunds. At the end of the course, a written knowledge and riding skills test will be administered. Riders who pass these tests will receive an MVA Motorcycle Safety Program Course Completion Card. You must provide your own motorcycle for this class. It must be registered and insured and must meet our standards for safety. $230 (includes $200 in fees*) Private Instruction Do you have a few riding skills you'd like to improve? Work with one of our most experienced instructors on exactly what you want to learn. Open to riders who have taken a riding course anywhere. Private Instruction is also a great choice to help you prepare to retake a riding class. Private practice is also open to those with a valid M Class License/Permit. Meet Our Instructor Dawn Douglas Dawn Douglas has been r iding since 2006 and joined the Rider School team in 2008. She highly valued her learning expe- rience with riding, which encouraged her to give back to the community by be- coming an instructor. She enjoys teaching and helping other riders enhance their skills. In addition to teaching, Ms. Douglas has ridden cross- country as well as into Nova Scotia and other parts of Canada. She is a member of a long distance endurance group called the Iron Butt Association. She is also an actress and model and has appeared in a couple of ad campaigns for BMW and their performance center. She believes that riding a motorcycle opens one's worldview and connections to exploring the world and learning about different people in a whole new way.
